The Sweetest In-Home Newborn Session

Precious, special moments. When you have a newborn, every moment is big. Every day is long. Each week seems like a year, and you feel like with every passing day you're a new level of expert. And a new level of clueless. It's a blur of questions and of wonder. A daze of amazement that you made this perfect new person. ⁠And then suddenly weeks have passed, and that blur felt like a millisecond. ⁠

And this is some of my favorite stuff to capture.⁠

My newborn sessions, and any at-home, lifestyle family sessions, aim to capture the real feeling of life in this era for you. I love working in your space, because that’s where it’s all happening for you. Yes, working outside in beautiful scenery is wonderful, but having been through the baby phase myself, I’m acutely aware of how big of a part your environment plays in your day to day. Getting the nursery to feel just cozy, having all the things at arm’s reach from the nursing chair, the decor you can see from there and stare at for hours and hours of the day. All of these little elements will be time capsules for you later. You’ll see the bookshelf with tidy books in the photo and think “wow, those were the days before he could reach that shelf, and it hasn’t looked that way in months.”

I'm so especially grateful to be able to capture these moments for wedding clients. For this little family (don't forget the dog!) I photographed their engagement, wedding, maternity, and now newborn. This is happening more and more and I'm stoked to be in this era!⁠
