A Sweet Maternity Session at Alice Keck Park

Editing a soft and sweet maternity session during golden hour at one of my favorite parks in town, has been the perfect way for me to spend a chilly winter morning. January was a big catch-up month for me, and finally having a chance to revisit some of my favorite sessions of 2021 has been utterly relaxing. And this session at a park with big pink flowers blooming in the trees, reminds me yet again of what a beautiful city we live in here in Santa Barbara.

This mama to be did a superb job of styling her session, I must say! Typically I recommend flowing long dresses for maternity sessions, accenting your shape and really emphasizing that this is your last hurrah as the center of attention for a good long while. But these two more form-fitting dresses she chose totally stole the show! My favorite is the magenta one, with well placed shiny sequins. She matched her lipstick and hubby’s shirt to this jewel tone perfectly! Not to mention matching the flowers in the trees! A happy accident, but I’ll give her credit. The navy blue dress is a little more subtle, but still so cute with the floral pattern and the adorable little belt, also matching hubby’s jeans just right.

But honestly my favorite part of this session was her smile. So clearly full of joy and anticipation, and overflowing with love. I recently got to meet their new baby, and she is the luckiest little girl in town.
