A Playful & Beachy Engagement Session

I knew I’d have a great time with Jan & Chris as soon as the bride-to-be first reached out to me. It was one of those times where I’m reading through their inquiry form and thinking “oh my gosh I love them!” The story of how they met is hilarious, and they are all about making each other laugh. Ultra competitive, but in the most playful way, is part of their love language, so we included some card games in their engagement session, and some off-the-cuff competition too (chugging race after the champagne opening, anyone?)

This is what I love about engagement sessions. We can do whatEVER you want, take our time, and get silly! Whatever makes the two of you the unique couple you are, we can customize the session and basically create your dream date. For this one, we included two beautiful Santa Barbara locations in the process. After getting the bride extra pretty with Nikole Vega at NV Glam Studio, we started at the courthouse on that lovely sunny afternoon for a picnic setting with games, and dress #1 (which also happens to be the dress she wore when they met!) Then we then headed over to the beach closer to sunset, with amazing dress #2, champagne, and even some fun in the ocean. I love when a girl is willing to get her feet (and dress) wet!

I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day later this year!
