Pumpkin Puppies
Here’s a little pumpkin spiced puppy joy for your autumn viewing pleasure! These puppies were rescued by Spark Rescue in Santa Barbara, and adopted out to loving homes last fall, but not before visiting with me for a fun little photo adventure in the pumpkin baskets! (Fun fact, most of these pumpkins were left over decor from my own wedding, and several were again repurposed for a friend’s wedding - waste not!)
I find so much joy in meeting new dogs, puppies or seniors, and discovering all their unique personality traits. Puppies are so fresh and pure, with their own levels of confidence and caution as they grow and learn. How do pups from the same litter, in the same home, turn out so differently? It’s fascinating!
Photographing puppies also presents a unique challenge of course, seeing as how they tend to know ZERO commands! So it’s all about quickly learning what they’re interested in (and fearful of), and placing myself at the proper angle, not expecting them to do anything I ask. I also always understand that I’ll probably step in pee or poo, and be climbed on and nipped all over by the little curious tykes. (My favorite scars!)
And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Let this serve as an example that your dog doesn’t have to be “a good model” or even know a single command, to get some lovely, priceless photographs that capture who they are.
