Abby & Andy’s wedding was one of those culminations of so much time planning and scheduling, and it felt so satisfying at the finish. We’d done their engagement session with their beloved pups down in San Diego, were in communication for months and had our venue walk through together. By wedding time, they felt like old friends. Having obsessive love for dogs in common is always helpful for that too!

And the day came together so gorgeously, thanks to their attention to detail and an amazing team of wedding pros. It was a bit cloudy that week and that morning, and I know Abby wasn’t thrilled about it, but it made for the most romantic lighting when she was getting ready with her girls, at a time of day that otherwise would have been quite harsh. And then the sun peaked out just to give her her wedding wish for the ceremony!

This venue, Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm, is a literal dream to work at. There are so many layers to it, and such a fun mixture of clean & bright with rustic & industrial. Plus the main greenhouse you can walk through includes a big pen full of animals, in this case including a giant puppy who was more than happy to say hi to the bride!

Some of my favorite details of the day: The bride’s shoes that say ANDY on the bottom, like from Toy Story, as a way to say she belongs to him. The sage green hues in the invitations, bridesmaids dresses and details. The heart-wrenching memorial table which included photos of the bride’s mom and the couple’s handsome bulldog, who I’m grateful I was able to meet the year before. And lastly the nightscape created by twinkle lights galore over the reception! I love love love how they reflect off of the back windows, essentially doubling the bulb count in photos.

This was the most beautiful, heart-warming and emotional day and I’m still so honored I was able to be part of it!
